Agenda Hero
Eliminate repetitive calendar management

Happy Monday.
We had a great dinner on Tuesday alongside Eric Simons, CEO of Bolt.new, and 18 product leaders. The topic at hand? The future of product in the age of AI.
Three learnings, per Jacob Miller from the PM Social Club:
LLM wrappers are abundant. Solve user pain instead.
AI is commoditizing execution. It’s intuition and taste that make all the human difference today.
PM isn’t dying in the age of AI. It’s upgrading.

Ethan, Arek, Eric, and a table of PM anecdotes
ICYMI: We recently announced our official investor syndicate. Check out the announcement post for more details on how to invest in our deals.

Agenda Hero is an AI-powered tool focused on eliminating tedious and manual calendar work. Its primary product, Magic, allows users to generate calendar events from unstructured information like images, PDFs, and documents. For example, a screenshot of a dinner invitation will become a calendar event in a few clicks. This process always maintains a human in the loop, meaning nothing will be finalized into a calendar without human approval. The Magic Chat feature enables a chatbot interaction that edits calendar events. Agenda Hero is available on desktop, mobile, and as a Chrome extension.

Agenda Hero’s co-founders, Caren Cioffi and Tim Walling, met at Brightcove, a video hosting and streaming company that was founded in 2004 and went public in 2012. During those years, Cioffi worked on the business side, leading Brightcove’s team focused on SMB customers and bringing the business into Japan, while Walling worked on the engineering side.
Years later, Cioffi found herself constantly mired in manual calendar work between work and her family. She knew this experience was not unique to her. With a passion for the problem and clarity around a vision, the two just had to determine what the solution would look like. They joined forces and began ideating in 2020, and when 2022 brought GPT-3, the “how” became clear.

Calendar events and invites are inherently collaborative, and yet they feel so scattered across different people and places. Throw in the logistics of manually creating and managing invites around potentially complicated situations and you have a problem that is universally tedious. To be a player in this space, you need novel approaches to saving time while putting people first, and Agenda Hero is taking a new, AI-powered approach.
In our conversation, Cioffi shared her goal and vision for the company: to become the “fourth leg of collaborative documents.” Today, when it comes to collaboration, there are shared documents, spreadsheets, and slideshows. While this entire productivity suite has become more collaborative over time, it’s ironic that the most collaborative tool, the calendar, hasn’t evolved the same way. Calendars right now are fundamentally personal despite being filled with shared activities. Existing tools like Google Calendar and Calendly are primarily focused on calendar management from the perspective of one person. Neither provides a simple, fluid, document-style interface for a group to collectively view, manage, and edit a complex schedule that originates from unstructured data.

Agenda Hero's focus on shareable, document-like schedules directly addresses this missing collaborative layer. Its product is simple and lean. By focusing solely on solving the problems faced by its customers, the product suggests a team that is focused and talented. This is shown in the company’s completely organic growth. It’s also seen in the team’s knowledge of its customers, which Cioffi said is best demonstrated by the working parent balancing their work schedule, personal schedule, and the schedules of their children, often additionally juggling a combination of texted and physical invites. I’m curious to see how that overall adoption and growth continues when they begin to invest more in marketing and growth.
Agenda Hero’s next obstacle to conquer is awareness. To accomplish Cioffi’s vision of being the “fourth leg of collaborative documents,” Agenda Hero must become the leader in collaborative calendar management. With strong early momentum and a simple, sleek, and intuitive product that solves a universal problem, Agenda Hero is off to a great start on its charge to be the go-to place to manage and collaborate with others on all things related to our calendars.
