āœļø Notes from the Editors

Today's article is brought to you by Fidelity Private Shares. Managing your equity and investors should be simpleā€”Fidelity Private Shares is the solution.

The internet is a double-edged sword. Parents everywhere face the same conundrum: how to introduce their children to the digital world without exposing them to its dangers. Itā€™s a delicate balance, and frankly, one that feels impossible at times. How do you protect their innocence while preparing them for a tech-driven future?

Many proposals later, in a (nearly) saturated market, Angel Kids is attempting to differentiate with an AI-powered solution.

Kid-friendly internet

Angel Kids is an AI-powered browser that allows kids to experience the digital world without coming in contact with potential dangers such as inappropriate content, targeted advertisements, addiction to their devices, etc. Kids can watch educational videos, ask thoughtful questions, and explore new interests all in a risk-free environment. It has a safe streaming feature that integrates different platforms into its product so that the child can watch videos from a safe standpoint. To get started, parents make an account and add a profile for their child. The account comes with a parent portal that gives parents access to their childā€™s activity and limits the screen time of their child. Additionally, the parent portal offers parents a ā€œChildā€™s Journalā€ feature, in which every step and milestone of their childā€™s digital journey is documented for parents to look back on.

šŸ”® Our Analysis

Ever since its creation in 1983, the internet has revolutionized the way we think, act, and behave. There is no doubt about the endless applications of the internet and how much it has benefited our society. However, for all its benefits, the Internet also brings drawbacks. Angel Kids addresses two major concerns: internet safety and data protection issues, particularly for children using the internet.

Internet safety has been a glaring issue in the industry. While adults can often recognize when they are at risk, children typically cannot. Children, without parental supervision, are at risk of stumbling onto inappropriate sites, videos, or content in general. Parents are faced with a difficult decision: either deprive their children of the internet, or micromanage their online use. Depriving children of internet access can harm their future, as ā€œover 92 percent of all jobs require digital skillsā€, a statistic that is bound to increase with time. Technical skills are increasingly necessary in an ever-more digital world, where school environments rely on online tools for assignments and tests. The SAT, for example, made the transition to digital testing just last March after around 97 years of paper-and-pencil testing. On the other hand, letting children use the internet unsupervised risks children clicking the wrong links or leaking personal information.

Thatā€™s where Angel Kids steps in. As a kid-friendly internet browser powered by AI, Angel Kids offers the best aspects of the internet without the associated risks. Children can complete homework, watch safe videos, and ask voice-activated questions to the AI browser. The AI browser will give age-appropriate answers back to the child. This eliminates the need for constant parental supervision because parents can still monitor their childā€™s activity through the parent portal. It also alerts parents when their child asks a sensitive question, allowing them to respond as they see fit. Parents can set time limits for their children and gain insights into their interests. Additionally, Angel Kids has safe streaming for its users, allowing them to watch safe videos from outside platforms that are integrated into the product.

Angel Kids tackles the issue of data protection. It only collects data necessary to enhance the userā€™s experience. For example, it curates the material for the child so that it is more age-appropriate by offering a personalized dashboard consisting of content based on their age level and previous activity. Angel Kids does not display advertisements or sell user dataā€”two common privacy concerns regarding data collection.

As John F. Kennedy once said, ā€œChildren are the worldā€™s most valuable resource and its best hope for the future.ā€ Itā€™s rare to find a company that prioritizes its user baseā€™s best interests over pure profit. Angel Kids has proven to be one of those companies, putting the welfare of children first. It nurtures their innate curiosity while protecting their innocence. With Angel Kids, children can safely explore the internet and prepare for a digital future.
